Welcome to my blog :)
Undergoing a few changes at the moment so if something doesn't quite look right then just be patient. It will be fixed . . . eventually
Have just setup wireless posting from my blackberry curve 8900. Application seems to be working pretty well. A lot has happened since my last post! Felicity was born on July 15th weighing 6lb7 and she’s doing fine!
Going to give the site a bit of a makeover now and I’ll need to add a front page with links to the blog and picassa etc…..
Yup – 9 months have gone fast! Amanda is about ready to pop and “The Sister” as William calls her is due in 2 days (Saturday 11th) Amanda is feeling big and uncomfortable and really wants to go into labour now!!
She’s been on Maternity leave for about 2 weeks now and is getting bored sitting at home on her own. Some good news though, the kitchen extension is nearly finished. Just the electrics to go in now then it’ll need a good lick of paint!
Amanda has a midwife appointement today. There coming to the house between 12-2pm so she’s just waiting in for that.
Baby is getting big now and she’d kicking a lot more. Amanda’s also getting bigger by the day. I think we’re about 25 weeks now. Not long to go. Hopefully we’ll get our bedroom and most of the nursery finished in the easter holidays – Starts next Friday!!!!
Stephen has started the extension (woohoo) he’s been there 2 weeks now and everything seems to be going well. I have taken some photo’s and video’s which I will post up at a later date.
With the kitchen extension about to start it was time that I actually started to move the shed rather than just thinking about it. Paul and I had already made the concrete base in preparation so now it was just a case of either moving the old shed or spending £300 on a new shed.
I didn’t really want to spend that kind of money on a shed if i didn’t have to so I screwed two batons of wood down either side hoping that this would allow me to pick it up and move it. On Saturday I got the lads (Paul, Gaz & Shrek) round and we moved the shed relatively easily. It now sits proudly at the top of the garden.
The extension can now go ahed – yay!
I will, of course, take the batons off now that it has been moved.
We’ve had our 2nd scan on Friday 27th Februrary and pleased to say everything is going well. Baby looks great and we have been told that its a girl! That will make choosing names easier because there will now only be 20,001 to go through.
This will be the last photo at 21 weeks. The next time we see her she will actually be here . . .
Hopefully the new extension to the kitchen and conservatory will be starting in the next few weeks. At the moment the garden shed is positioned right outside the current kitchen. It can’t stay there as the extension will go right through the middle of it, so I’m going to have to attempt to move it to the top of the garden.
At the top of the garden there is a small patch of stones (which Eddie loves as his litter tray) Now the shed cant stand on stones so it was either lay slabs or a concrete base. I work in IT and am no way skilled in anything like this but with the help of my uncle, who let me borrow his cement mixer and some labour from Paul we managed to get a flat concrete base laid in about 2 days. All thats left to do now is physically move the shed. Hopefully it wont fall apart.
1 down – 3 to go!
We’ve now finished decorating Williams room to the point where he has filled the walls with stickers! Its take a good few weeks but for our first attempt at decorating, its not too bad.
We added the finishing touches on Sunday and made up his wardrobe and chest of drawers. Were going to be starting on our bedroom in half term and will hopefully get the majority of that done before we go back to school.
Here’s some shots of his finished room.
Its been a really bad week for the weather this week. Heavy snow has hit almost every part of the UK and School has been closed on Tuesday and Thursday.
So not wanting to waste the days we got on with some more decorating. On Tuesday we finished papering Williams room which in itself was a big achievement. I also painted all the seems in the paper to that any gaps would get filled up.
On our 2nd snow day we decided that we were ready to start painting. So out comes the new paint pod and tub of magnolia paint. It soon becomes clear that the paintpod is faulty and needs to go back. So with the new paintpod in hand I gave the room 2 coats of paint and it looks great.
Hopefully all I’ll need to do the weekend is some small pieces of touching up and then its onto making up the flat wardrobe and draws.
Of course the snow day wasnt all spent working . .
We made one kick ass snowman
We have just come back from the 2nd midwife appointment and pleased to say that everything is going well. All Amanda’s blood tests came back ok and everything is looking good. We’re now 18 weeks pregnant and baby is moving around alot.
We brought the pushchair today and are going to pick it up tomorrow. Its the first big item that we have brought for the baby. I’ll get some pics up as and when we get it..
Just a quick fly around the garden with our new Kodak Zi6 camcorder. You can hear William in the background but nothing new there. This was shot mainly to test out the camera and Youtube’s HD capabilities.
